UAL MEETING OF LOS ANGELES FUNERAL SOCIETY
The meeting will be held 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Sierra Madre United Methodist Church, Hartzell Memorial Hall, 695 Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, CA. The program topic will be "Care Giving 101," featuring Jennifer A. Birch, R.N., M.S.N., A.C.N.P.-B.C. A light meal will follow the meeting. Saturday, October 15, 2011--ANNUAL SEMINAR OF FUNERAL CONSUMERS ALLIANCE OF CALIFORNIA
The programming will run from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Fresno. The event will be held at College Community Congregational Church, 5550 N. Fresno St., Fresno. Registration materials have been mailed to each California affiliate, and enrollments can be taken by email at sharonagrl2@aol.com. The public is welcome.


The keynote speaker will be ED HOWARD of the University of San Diego's Center for Public Interest Law. He will discuss Senate Bill 658, the legislation that requires all licensed funeral homes to post their prices on the internet (if they have a web site). National FCA President LAURIE POWSNER of New Jersey has also been invited to speak and answer questions about the national FCA activities. During the business meeting, San Diego Memorial Society will describe the successful End of Life Faire that they held last year, and Marjorie Bridges will report on the types of questions she received in the past year as the "hot line" person.

Saturday, October 22, 2011--FALL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM OF FCA OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
The program will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 4641 Marconi Avenue, Sacramento (corner of Marconi and Mission avenues). BEV AUGUSTINE, Bureau Chief of the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau, State of California, will present " The Funeral Industry: Where We Are Now." The public is welcome. Free meeting and parking, light refreshments.



Sunday, October 23, 2011--ANNUAL MEETING OF FCA OF STANISLAUS/MERCED COUNTIES
FCA of Stanislaus/Merced has scheduled its annual meeting for October 23.  The program will be announced later. Regular board meetings will be held Jan 26, Apr 26, and July 26, 2012.
